Biography

Lady Nogrady biography. Writen by herself.

''I'm just a born & raised California girl born in Orange County & raised between OC & LA. I'm an only child so I'm borderline out of my mind and always had to find interesting ways to entertain myself growing up. I was always a little singing & dancing machine, ask any of my childhood friends.
I think I knew when I was about 3 when I received a mic & mic stand for Christmas that singing & entertaining was going to be my thing.

During elementary and middle school I was always in choir, band, and/or orchestra. It makes me sad that they want to take music programs out of schools because they were honestly the only reason I would go. In middle and highschool I also got involved in Drama and Theatre Arts and actually spent some time in London for Theatre.

Around age 17 I got involved in the local music scene and started going to raves. From what I remember, most people went for the drugs but I honesty went for the dancing. When it comes to dancing my roots definitely come from the rave scene. I think I was one of the last generations of ravers that went to raves when they were still considered "underground" and you had to go to 3 different locations just to get to the party. After my rave phase I moved onto the HxC 'scene'. Around 19 I started going to shows and spent a lot of time at venues like Chain Reaction, the Glasshouse, House of Blues Anaheim, Cobalt Cafe, etc. I was really intrigued by the way the aggression met the brotherhood of the whole scene and being a girl I felt I tapped into a stronger side of myself going to these shows. It's funny because now it seems that what's popular is both a mixture of the rave scene & the HxC scene... I've been notified that "Bubble Goth" is coming lol.

During college I couldn't pick a major. I took a bunch of classes ranging from Marketing & Advertising, to Broadcast Journalism, to Teaching, to Communications...but in the back of my mind I always had music and I was always scribbling lyrics in my notebooks instead of notes. Oops. At the risk of sounding like everyone else in LA I have to say though, I just knew I was supposed to at least try my hand at making music and singing and making a career of it or else I would forever kick myself. So I didn't end up finishing college but I wanted to educate myself as much as I could with the drive of wanting to be a "professional musician" so I went to the Musician's Institute in Hollywood and took their Vocal Institute of Technology program. Unfortunately I didn't end up finishing the program because I was commuting about 65 miles every morning and every night from OC and it was taking a toll on me. I ended up sort of giving up (before I really even started) and not too long thereafter landed a great job at the corporate offices of O'Neill Clothing & Lost Enterprises. I could have made a pretty nice career working in the clothing/fashion industry but a little voice in my head kept getting louder saying.... GO TO HOLLYWOOD BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!!

Right around this time I coincidentally got a phone call from a friend of mine who works in casting. He needed a girl to be a host assistant on a gameshow called "Distraction". I had about 2 days to decide if I was going to say fvck it, quit my job, use the money I had made to get an apartment and just go for it, or be "smart", stay at O'Neill, keep making decent money and try to move up in the company.... Well, let's just say that within a matter of about 2 weeks, I had an apartment up in Hollywood. :)

After I moved I worked on a few episodes of "Distraction" and continued riding on the tv and film train. I learned that extrawork was a great way to make fast money and I even earned my way into the Screen Actor's Guild. My family was way more accepting and intrigued by the idea of me acting than they were by me being a musician... So I did a lot of extrawork, some featured work, small films and had some face time in a few big films until I landed a great job as Sarah Silverman's stand in/body double on her tv show "The Sarah Silverman Program". During this time I worked 10-14 hour days and was exhausted but despite my exhaustion I realized, "Holy crap I have money now so I can use all my free time to make music!" I worked on a few songs with some friends, we recorded them and it was a good time however it wasn't exactly the type of music I pictured myself doing... It was a great learning experience but I pictured myself doing the type of music I'm doing today. But then low and behold, the writer's strike happened. This meant that the show I was on had to stop filming, we were all out of work for a while and I really started struggling. I was living in a pretty lavish townhouse in a nice part of town and as the writer's strike progressed I was unable to keep it. I had to totally downgrade my life and move out of town for a while. I got a job in a restaurant and worked that grind for a bit. It kind of gave me a nice perspective though on what I really want to do here in Hollywood, what I've been doing, and what I really think I'm supposed to do. In my seclusion I started playing a lot of guitar, started writing a lot and sang my ass off, (Thankfully I had great neighbors). It was actually a nice sanctuary out of town... I ended up playing a few shows in Hollywood with a few musician friends of mine, but again it wasn't the type of music I really wanted to play, but it was nice to get back out there and made me realize I wanted to move back into town.

With my mind made up, everything started happening so fast when 1.11.11 hit! Literally. On NYE I ran into my friend Zach Heiligman who introduced me to my producer Spencer "Gunslunglow" Blair, wherein a week later I reconnected with my friend & producer Lucian "Gods Paparazzi" Walker at his studio where he introduced me to Blood On the Dancefloor. Within 2.5 months I had already been flown to Florida to do two features with Blood On the Dancefloor, and was already recording songs with Gunslunglow, and had been asked to join BOTDF on the Vans Warped Tour. I was also able to move back into town with one of my best friends and couldn't be happier or feel more creative. They say when things start happening, they happen fast. It's been a long road and writing this really makes me realize that. I've had my ups, I've had my downs, but now I'm ready to fly. Nothing comes easy but if you never give up, ignore the haters, truly believe in your talents within realistic measures, always work to improve your skills & keep being positive, you are DESTINED for success.

Thank You if you took the time to read this. I look forward to the next level of this journey and hope you'll join me along the way.

Cheers & Best,
